Drinking this at the Carolina Brewing Company on tap poured into a pint glass.
Looks, slightly hazy and orange, nice white head and lacing.
Smells piney.
Tastes piney, sweet with some citrusy notes. Despite an IBU of 85 not so bitter, as the malt balances it nicely.
Mouth feel is light medium.
Overall, yes I would order again.

Pours a hazy orange color with minimal head. It smells the IPA smell. Tastes of pine pine and more pine, this brew is fucking hopped up. Hoppy mouth feel, but surprisingly light. Aftertaste is the obligatory hope/pine somewhat bitter taste. Goes down easy for an IPA, especially one at 7.2abv. Rates a 8.95 out of 10 on the would you like to sit down with a 12-pack of this brew scale.

Wonderfully hoppy, mildly dank beer with a delicate bitter bite at the finish. I was really delighted to discover this beer in a small food market in Duck, NC. I love that the malt is a background player in the flavor - to me, this is how an IPA should be.

I have been searching for this beer for a while now...and finally found it. Right off, it has a great, earthy aroma and the taste is crispy & light. The hop taste comes through well in the aftertaste, though with name like Hop Roar, i expected a much "larger" hops taste. Overall, great beer that would be an everyday pour for me if not for the seasonal availability.

Beautiful beer. Gold with ruby highlights.
Two fingers of whitehead. Nice lacing.
Passsion fruit, Mango, papaya on the nose.
Taste is a good. Would like more citrus and grapefruit.
A very nice IPA. Sort of halfway between an east coast and west coast IPA.
Very well done, but not as hop forward as I had hoped.

Poured from a 16 ounce can. The label specifies 7.5% and 85 IBU.
About a half inch of frothy head, with nice lace that lingered on the side of the glass.
True to style and as advertised, but overwhelmingly hoppy and pine scented to my taste. Almost astringently better and not adequately balanced with malt.
I probably would not buy this again.

L: Slightly hazy orange gold with a dense off white head that lingers and leaves behind a sheet of lacing.
S: Fruity with citrus and sweet malt.
T: Grassy and herbal with a tiny bit of sweetness and a bitter finish.
F: Medium to light body with decent carbonation that adds a bit of creaminess
O: A pretty solid beer but for me it lacks a good balance between the sweet and bitter.

Great clarity and lace on this local IPA. Hop Roar also features an attractive gold/bronze hue and solid pine dense nose with alcohol kind of fluttering in the background.
Big bitterness in the flavor, balanced by caramel malt at first but swept away in the aftertaste. Pine primarily, but also some grapefruit and resin notes. A little tighter and thicker on texture makes this beer outstanding as opposed to just formidable and tasty.
True to style and advertising and probably these guys' best brew for me.
