The beer arrived crystal clear medium brown with a tall off white head which lasted to lace the glass.
The aroma was malty with caramel and slight chocolate emerging in the nose as it warmed.
The flavor was caramel with a distinct candy-like flavor. The bittering was just a bit on the high side for a Scottish Ale, but very nice nonetheless. Slight chocolate flavors also emerged as the beer warmed.
The finish was dry with lasting bittering. The body was medium to medium light.
5th Anniversary beer for Sawmill Tap Room in Raleigh brewed by CBC in a single batch. Only available at Sawmill Tap Room. A nice beer, malty, with higher than expected bittering. I might have to go back for another.
