The beer arrived on the bar medium amber brown with a light low head which did last to lace the glass.
The aroma was almost nonexistent. What low aroma was present was slight chocolate and caramel.
The flavor was malty with a distinct bittering presence. The flavor was slight chocolate and a citrusy bittering that lasted and was out of character for a bock. The beer did not have any citrusy hop flavor, it was the bittering itself that came off as citrusy and a bit earthy.
The finish was lasting citrusy bittering into the aftertaste. The body was medium.
On tap at Sawmill Tap Room. A little unsure how to enter this one into the database...might be better as a European Dark Lager. This is the 2005 Groundhog day beer, I'll bet that puppy is scared back into the hole for sure!
