Pours into a chalice a full rich amber tinged mahogany color with a full on half finger light beige head that never really settles.Aromas are a bit muted with some brown sugar and alcohol dipped dark fruit...but again lighter.The flavors are not bad but it doesn't seem to all come together to make a cohesive flavored beer.A bit of dark fruit cake and caramel but the flavors fade fast into sweet alcohol in the finish.I'am a fan of this old school NC micro brewery but this offering left me wanting more being the style that it is.
