Pours nice and dark, with a medium creamy head that dissipates somewhat quickly. Good lacing.
Chocolaty, Malty, coffee-like aromas.
Good malty, chocolaty feel through the middle of the tongue that slowly finishes with a black coffee bitterness. There is a definite dryness to it that leaves a nice crisp palate to continue enjoying it. Its crispness is highlighted by good carbonation that's on the high side. No muddiness here. I definitely want another sip.
A good drinkable stout that's not overbearing in its presentation. It calls you back for more, which makes its mid-5% alcohol a good thing. You can enjoy quite a few.

Pours very, very dark brown. Not quite black, but very close. Bold, dark cream 1-finger head. Big, thick strands of lace.
Very strong roast coffee nose. A little chocolate, but mostly all coffee and roasted malt.
Hits very creamy, then turns coffee bitter. Tad bit thin in the finish, but for 5.5% this is a very nice stout. Fairly nice hops in the finish, but coffee and weak cocoa are really dominating.
Feel is very rich for a stout so low in alcohol.
Very, very easy to drink. On a night when NC is about to get it's first major snow fall of the season (and maybe the biggest in years), this is a very good accompaniment.
