On tap at Sawmill Tap Room on 3/2/12.
Pours a dark orangish color with a thin layer of soft, creamy, foamy white head that has little retention. The nose is odd; spicy, peppery, almost rye-like. The taste is almost similar. It's spicy with some odd rye characteristics, it's peppery, and it has a floral finish. I have to say that the flavor is odd and unbalanced. The hop character seems out of place and the overall malt character is weirdly spicy. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth, and a little crisp.
This was an odd beer. It's not what one would expect from the style. I probably won't have this again.
