I was happy to find a growler of this special holiday brew at RSVP in Portland, Maine. The color is a light golden amber color with a big light oatmeal colored head and good lacing. The aroma is a nice citrusy nutmeg and wheaty cinnamon and nutty malt. Light but very nice and complex. The flavor jumps in with effervescent allspice and nutmeg, orange clove and pumpkin. There's a full bread and tart rye flavor here and everything is bathed in refreshingly brisk carbonation. It's on the light side but not weak in any way. It's unusually drinkable, especially for the style. It's such a tasteful version of the style and so crisp and easy drinking while still delivering a balanced holiday flavor. I really liked this. Not like most Christmas brews. A great experience for my first Freeport experience.
