Had this on draft at the Broad Arrow Tavern in Freeport. My first experience with Freeport Brewing, and they didn't disappoint. This was an amber color with a medium head and some nice lacing. It had a pumpkin spice aroma, not cloying. It had a sweet honey taste, with the aforementioned spice (pumpkin and clove). Fairly substantial in the mouth, not at all thin. A decent beer.

The beer is a hazy cinnamon color, with no head whatsoever.
Aroma is malty and sweet, with plenty of caramunich malting, and a definitely ale-like quality. Some floral esters with a distinct juicyfruit aroma. Light yeastiness, and minimal hopping, almost nonpresent.
The flavor is very malty, with heaps of caramel and toasted malt. Some slightly phenolic esters come through in the middle, with hints of apple, pear, and a wierd floral juicyfruit flavor. The beer is very sweet, nearly cloying in the finish, with very little hops to back up the malt. A slight alcoholic twang is present in the very end, which actually provides some balance against the sweetness. Full bodied, with moderate effervescent carbonation.
A very sweet, almost belgiany rendition of an octoberfest ale. Tasty, but a little overwhelming after a while. I couln't drink more than one pint of this.

This O-Fest had an unexpected cloudy, dark-golden, tawny color (almost like some dunkel-weizens I've seen). Had a creamy, fine head, but minimal lace. Nose had some semi-decent malt offerings. Well-made body, and pleasant on the tongue. The flavor had some malt...only "some". Not nearly enough that I like to see in a Marzen. The finish came around with a bit more hop (even citrus) flavor than needed, overpowering what malt is there. Plenty better, imho.
