Very dry and toasty.

Medium-mouthfeel

Super dry

I like this one.

Pours opaque, dark brown in color with minimal head. Taste is espresso, and roasted malt. Medium bodied, tasty and and creamy..While I prefer other Mash House beers this is worth a try.

Pours very dark with a moderate head from the growler given to me by a friend. Very enjoyable as it tastes exactly like you would expect a stout to taste. ...of course, you have to like stouts to enjoy it!

Poured on-tap at The Mash House and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a light, brown-highlighted black coloring with a filmy, tan head. Nose of mocha, light bittersweet chocolate, and roasted coffee. Flavors of bitter roasted coffee, chocolate highlights, and roasted notes. Smooth, dry bodied, with a roasted and bitter aftertaste. Very dry, bitter linger on the finish. True to the style and tasty. Decent brew.

On tap at Tribeca Tavern in Raleigh

A - deep black with a soft, brown head that has decent retention

S - roasted malts and coffee

T - roasted malts, coffee, faintly toasty, faintly nutty, mild bitterness in the finish

M - smooth, medium bodied, a bit crisp

This is a decent stout but one dimensional. The roasted malt and coffee notes dominate throughout. There is little of note here. It's brewed to style. If you find yourself in a Mash House establishment in eastern/central carolina, then I would give it a try.

Nice stout. The nitro tap provides a nice big creamy off white head with good retention and thick rings of lacing. Dark brown color no light getting through.

Smell is mild maltiness and semi sweet chocolate. Tastes good. Nice malty stoug with semi sweet chocolate highlights.

Mouthfeel is rich and creamy

As esy drinker, very sessionable.

On Nitro tap at the brewpub, served in shaker glass.

Black with nice thick white head. Decent lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt. Taste is sorts a cross between a dry irish stout and a standard american stout. Fairly smooth body, on the thicker side.
An Easy drinkin beer.

Appearance: black in color with a creamy 1" tan colored head that lasts a long time. Thick lacing paints the glass.

Smell: mild roasted malt aroma is very soft and tough to pull out of the glass.

Taste: roasted malt, chocolate, hint of espresso, and a mild bitterness make up a basic but flavorful stout.

Mouthfeel: medium-heavy in body. Creamy throughout. Short aftertaste as the flavors leave the mouth quickly.

Drinkability: nice sessionable stout that everyone would enjoy.

Draft pint at the brewpub; dark, dark brown with a big quality head that disapated slowly. This is a bit sweet, and unfortunately a bit watery. There’s nothing to it and this was a major letdown after the two outstanding porters at the Mash House. (#2809, 4/21/2007)
