Enjoyed on-tap at Bogart's in Raleigh.
Poured is hazy and fairly dense looking. Whole lot of head that did not want to go away. Nose was pretty hoppy but I could pick up a whle lot of heat from the hops.
Wish they did not pour me a full pint because the alcohol was a bit too much in comparison to the malts and hop. Flavor was a typical American DIPA. But oddly the hops and malts were toned down a tad. I think that could have all been a decption though because the alcohol in this beer was just a bit too much. Decent enough for a small brewpub DIPA but not something I will be hunting for again.

appearance: At the brewpub, the beer is brought to me in a flute type glass. Good head retention, as a layer of off white head remains throughout. Moderate lacing is left behind. The beer is a deep, slightly hazy amber in color.
smell: There is a big, green, fresh hop aroma...very reminiscent of Hoppy Hour...that brings to mind citrus and evergreen. Some malty caramel aromas are found, and the alcohol seems to be well hidden.
mouthfeel: The carbonation is smooth and medium. The body is a heavy medium and somewhat slick on the tongue.
taste: Big hop flavors of fresh pine and citrus upfront are soon joined by a caramel malt sweetness. There is a considerable hop bitterness that lingers long into the finish.
drinkability: Though not the most balanced beer, that is not what I expected. The alcohol is well hidden and the hops are lip smacking tasty. Gone before I knew it.
Reminds me of a Hoppy Hour that has been taken up a few notches.
