appearance: The head is thin and white. The beer is a dark, hazy amber color.
smell: Wow, very hoppy...almost throws it out of balance. Plenty of sweet aroma too though, with notes of dark fruits (dates, for example) and sugars coming through. Some really big esters in there, which are the main detractor.
mouthfeel: Carbonation is on the lower end of the medium range, and the body medium.
taste: Hops up front and hops in the back, lingering way into the finish. Lots of dark fruit, moderate esters, some spiciness. The hops are a little out of balance, but it's still tasty.
drinkability: good considering the ABV, but not that good
Listed at the brewpub as being 100 IBUs. Picked up a growler from the brewery soon after the release.
