Coming in a long-neck 500ml brown bottle, non-bottle-conditioned. The label specifies the ingredients as follows: Finest English malt, Local water, Northdown & Cascade hops. BB 05/2007, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.
A: pours a bright dark golden colour, with a thin layer of ever-lasting off-white creamy froth and constant streams of tiny fizziness as a result of extra added CO2--the overall presentation is reminiscent of a pint of keg Czech pils...
S: sweet honeyish and syrupy malts on top of fragranct and sweet-lemony hops, backed by hints of sour-ish nectar, ripe, juicy nectarines and tart banana-ish estery hints of yeasts. The nose is very focused yet slightly sweeter than ideal.
T: upfront comes a mouthful of tartly-sweet flowery and lychee hops (Cascade) with a tannic feel of semi-fermented tea-leaf bitterness (like Taiwanese high-mountain Ooh-Long) and some pear-ish fruitiness; the flat-textured zesty bitterness gradually expand towards the rear of the tongue, until being wrapped up by mildly sour hoppy finish. The maltiness plays the second or even third fiddle throughout, showing at its loudest a tinge of toasted maltiness.
M&D: the carbonation is restrained and softly fizzy, befitting the lively hop profile. Overall this is a medium-bodied fruity Golden Ale style bitter with an American twist of hops. Fairly nice and tasty~~
