Hand drawn through sparkler in The Sportsman’s Arms pub, Wath, Yorkshire.
L: Clear, pale gold with one finger of creamy head that leaves rings of lacing.
S: A hint of light malt.
T: Lightly malty with some honeysuckle , some leafy hops and a very dry finish.
F: Smooth and soft. Thin-ish body saved by the sparkler.
O: A straightforward, easy-drinking golden ale.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of April 2019. Purchased a while back from ALDI. Described on the label as a light and refreshing pale ale; hopped with Mosaic and Cascade.

A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A light golden hue with moderate carbonation and faint floating sediment. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.

S: Aroma of light fruity hops with hints of floral notes, mild citrus, grass/hay, subtle leafiness, grainy malt, ale yeast and faint earthiness. Understated but balanced - nice.

T: Tastes of light, floral hops with notes of elderflower, subtle citrus, a touch of peel, grass/hay, leafiness, ale yeast, earthiness and grainy malt. Pretty dry, followed by a modest hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the strength. Quite astringent; dries the palate. Aftertaste of bitter grassy hops, mild floral notes, ale yeast, earthiness and faint grain.

O: Not bad at all; a light but satisfyingly hoppy pale ale. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are a blend of mild floral hops, ale yeast and grainy malt. Body is alright. Won't blow your socks off but a refreshing brew that would be great on a hot day. Worth sampling.

Clean fresh bitter taste, makes a change at Aldi, but a lower alcohol, less memorable pale ale.

Bottle. Pale straw. Thin wispy head.
Light fruity hops. Some straw and a hint of lemon.
Taste as per smell. Decent bitter completion.
Light feel. Well carbonated.
A refreshing but unexciting beer.
