Birdsview named this ESB after the traditional method by which people once fetched beer in England by pail. So yes, the spelling is correct. Pail Ales solidly carbonated body delivers a big-bubbled head of ocean spray foam and widely dispersed lace. The aroma of raw, mash tun graininess common to other Birdsview beers is predominant though it doesnt conform to style and feels out of place here as does the odd yellow-green color.
Pail Ale is difficult to evaluate due to its divergent approach to the ESB style. It helps to think of it as a malt beverage moreso than an ESB. I didnt much care for it, but your results may vary. 6.5% ABV.
