sampled on-tap at the RFD - Strong Ale Tasting 2/26/12. review from notes.

A: brilliantly clear. dark, dark amber hue.
S: lots of caramel, however there is also a definitive chocolate note in there.
T: i get a little bit of smoke and even a little bit of pear. but that may just be some residual sugar playing tricks on me. otherwise the obvious caramel and coco flavors. finishes super clean.
M: average carbonation on a full body.
D: very tasty doppel that finishes very smooth and very clean. makes revisiting the glass a pleasure. the 2+ months since its brew date certainly has helped this lager along.
