A new interpretation of a Christmas classic with a touch of dates and a spicy twist from the popular root, ginger. A dark and full-bodied porter with a fine, fine balance between alcohol, sweetness, bitterness and the dark malt. Perfect for the diverse Christmas food in December.

Copenhagen 7/12 2024. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Vermlandsgade, Frb. F. Dark brown label with a pair of golden bells and a red bow.
Pours opaque dark brown with a huge beige head. Stable. Settles as a thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma îs medium intense with an odor of sweet, dark malts, butter, sweet spice and alcohol. Roasted malts, ginger, vanilla and raisins.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oil, soft, a little bit viscous, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a while. Finish is soft and sweet.
Pleasant enough. Thankfully they are not overdoing the ginger.
