Fynsk Jul is a fresh Belgian-inspired Christmas brew with wheat and rounded off with prune juice. It has a beautiful deep amber color with a light haze and a nice head, which clearly shows the large amount of wheat that we have used for this beer.

Fynsk Jul has a lovely scent of elderflower and sweetness from the malt and the Swedish syrup that we have used. You will also be able to smell lovely notes of citrus fruit that come from the Cascade hops.

It has a fresh taste with a pleasant sweetness that comes from the prune syrup and the caramelized malts. It also has a lovely taste of elderflower.

All in all, our Fynsk Jul is a fresh, sweet and full-bodied Belgian-inspired beer with a large amount of wheat, which is really suitable for all seasons.

Copenhagen 9/12 2018. 50 cl bottle from Føtex, Vibenhus Runddel, Kbh Ø. Red version of their “Fynsk Forår” brand with a lot of elderberries. Seems to be their spring beer with an addition of prunes. Peculiar.

Pours murky amber with medium-sized white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate Lacing.

Aroma is sweet and fruity. Limonade with elderberry, citrus and lemon. Tart with some sweetness rummaging in the background. Not much sign of the prunes. Gets more sour as the beer warms up.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, Soft texture. A little sticky.

Flavor is rather sweet followed by a more moderate tart bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a touch of fruit. Lingers for a bit.

Quite similar to “Fynsk Forår” but a little more sweet and murky.
