Kongens Fadebur Påskebryg is a warm and traditional English Brown Ale, which we have developed in collaboration with Nyborg Slot. The beer has a wonderful aroma of rye bread, jam and dark berries from the good English Golding aroma hops. The taste is round and full-bodied, with distinct notes of coffee, chocolate and licorice. A traditional, historical beer similar to the beers that the royals drank in the Middle Ages.
Kongens Fadebur Påskebryg is one of several beers developed in collaboration between Ørbæk Bryggeri and Nyborg Slot.

Copenhagen 2/4 2017. 75 cl bottle from Fakta. A bucket of mead and two stern guards on the label. I suppose that they are trying to tell me that this brew is worth protecting.
Pours slightly cloudy dark reddish amber with bubbly white head. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam.
Aroma is quite sweet. Sweet fermented fruit, prunes, figs, licorice and a little boozy. Sugary.
Soft carbonation and medium thick palate.
Flavor is sweet - but not overwhelmingly so. A little thin to be honest. Light bitterness. Aftertaste of licorice and sugar lumps.
A sweet supplement to the Easter Lunch table - and I wonder why they need two stern guards to ensure that nobody runs away with it.
