Højt Skum from Ørbæk is a strong, well-balanced beer, with a fine balance between the light and dark malts. The aromatic hop flavor leaves a long and pleasant mouthfeel. Højt Skum is a full-bodied affair.

Copenhagen 26/7 2017. 50 cl bottle from Skjold Burne. Drawing of what looks like a baker with a mug of foamy beer.

Pours hazy amber with a red tinge and off-white head. Settles as thin but compact layer of foam covering the surface of the beer.

Aroma is kind of boozy and sweet. Sugary marzipan, plums and sherry.

Soft carbonation and thick oily palate.

Flavor is heavy sweet followed by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet caramel. Lingering. Kind of unbalanced and overly sweet.

Like drinking Plums in Madeira. That can be perfectly all right as long you only have to endure one.
