Copenhagen 9/11 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Red label sporting Ørbæks Umami concept with professor Kikunae Ikeda looking tiredly at the world and the people who purchase this beer.
Pours slightly hazy amber with a big white head. Settles as a solid creamy layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is nicely balanced. Some sweet caramel on one side balanced by sourish bitterness. A little spiciness as well. Coriander, vanilla and black pepper.
Medium strong carbonation and watery palate.
Flavor is sweet and salt at the same time. Some spices peeking in as well. Aftertaste is medium bitter with a light boozy touch of alcohol.
A different take on a Christmas Beer which is usually dark, sweet and fairly strong.
