branded as an "extra IPA", Helm's Hutchinson is a nice offering. pours on tap with a hazy orange/amber color. nice soapy head that dissipates but doesn't disappear. brewer's lace left around the glass. on the nose, a dank fruity hop scent - maybe simcoe hops? tasting it, again, very hop forward on the front of the tongue; a sweet, dank IPA with a subtle malt profile on the back of the tongue to balance out the bitterness. easy drinking for 75 IBUs at 7.5%.
overall, a good offering from a good quebecois microbrewery. worth checking out if you're in MTL. not as complex or interesting as Dieu Du Ciel's IPA portfolio, but certainly a well-crafted beer.
