Thick rocky crown on a body the color of a sorrel mare with striated lace digging deep down the glass a real visual stunner. The aroma touched upon pear cider and the taste too had hints of acetaldehyde. Style purists wont appreciate these deviations from the norm or the complete lack of hop aroma. But the gentle body with its serene mouthfeel and strong drinkability carry the flavor beautifully. The alleged 103 IBU are integrated into the malts to emphasize bitterness in a manner that doesnt produce overkill, while wheat malts deliver exceptional head retention.
Not really comparable to most northwest IPAs, but a great drinking beer nonetheless.
