Bottle so generously sent by PMgep. Thanks a lot for the trade man!
From a 25cl bottle into a snifter
Blend:
Monks Victoria Imperial Stout 89,55%
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 9,95%
Mackmyra Special 06 0,5%
APPEARANCE: A black pour yields a one finger, medium looking, slightly creamy, light mocha colored head with very good retention. Black body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a full wisp and creamy ring. A faint, swirly wisp and a good ring remain until the end but leave no real lacing down the glass. Good looking, though the body needs to be a bit thicker for top marks.
SMELL: Whisky on the nose, with vanilla, dark chocolate, some coffee and dark fruit notes as well. Some cocoa powder with a nice charred, roasted malt backbone. Very nice blend with a good balance between beer and whisky.
TASTE: Whisky up front and some piercing hair-spray flavors. Quite whisky forward with spirit qualities. More stout comes through after the swallow with roasted and charred malts, cocoa and some coffee flavors. The whisky is still there, with light vanilla, sweet cream and some licorice in the bold and lingering finish. This is not as well integrated as the nose; the stout blend and spirit don't mesh as well. Still, this is a flavorful and interesting drink.
PALATE: Medium body and slightly higher levels of carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes slightly dry. No burn. Some more weight and a thicker feel would help.
OVERALL: You can tell this has been spiked and not aged. The aroma seems to have meshed well, but the flavor hasn't followed suit. The whisky and stout seems to be battling each other, both not quite knowing what to do with the other. Regardless, this was a fun beer that I'm glad to have had the chance to try. I would gladly drink any of their other stout blends at some point. Thanks again for the trade PMgep!

Deep black, dark tan head, good lacing, good curtains.
Smelling of vanilla, Marzipan, oak and dried fruits.
Tasting very sweet, dark bread, bourbon, vanilla fudge, dates, figs.
Little carbonation, smooth, oily and with a medium to big body,
A very potent drink, very much a dessert beer.

The label states (in Swedish): a uniqe blend of the best; Monks Victoria Imperial Stout 89,55%, Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 9,95%, Mackmyra Special 06 0,5%).
A: Pours motor-oil pitch-black with a medium large thick and compact dark brown head. Dissipation leaves some lacings.
S: Strong dark hard roasted malts, sweet. Vanilla and chocolate, even coffee. Lots of dark dried fruits. Some smoky notes in the back. Dark dried fruits. Whisky-notes (duh! - the Mackmyra!). Honey.
T: Sweet coffee and chocolate together with vanilla and some smoke. Also quite strong whisky. Honey - heather! Strong maltyness, hard roasted.
M: Long (for this style) aftertaste; smoke and bitterness. Body is thick and full while carbonation must have been forgotten...
O: A very nice Russian Stout where the Mackmyra-whisky sure made an interesting addition.
