I went back to Stein (NL) for some more goodness after my first haul. I went after the complete unknowns, this clearly being one of them. The bottle gives no info exept from it containing rice. The website of the brewery does have some more info. The name comes from the Japenese rice variety used for high end sake.
Served in my trusty "Seef" tumbler.
Head filled the entire glass while pouring. Better be carefull next time. It's rich white in colour. The beer itself is a very deep hazy white with flecks of yeast floating through.
The aroma is rather subtle. Hints of bready malt mixed with caramel and a bit of herb and cooked rice. Along with these aromas comes a touch of dark fruit and lemon. A bit of heat from the alcohol present as well. Overall bready and warming.
Flavour is much sweeter then I expected. Alcohol makes itself noticeable right away. Stings a bit even. Resembles a beer cocktail. As if sake was mixed in with the beer.
Bread and cooked rice with herb and lemon. Sweetness is not sugary but rather fruity like dextrose.
Mouthfeel is full and creamy.
Aftertaste is dominated by lemony sake.
Let's just say this was quite the unexpected experience. Don't know yet if it's good or bad.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
