Jean 'Cloudy' Van Damme has nothing to do with the painfully bad Belgian actor Jean Claude Van Damme, rather it is named after Jean Claud Van Damme (notice the lack of an 'e' at the end of Claud), A Belgian who fought under Admiral Nelson at the battle of Trafalgar. Van Damme was in charge of a special cannon made from iron ore taken from near where the Tunnel Brewery is based. Anyway, he was nicknamed Jean 'Cloudy' Van Damme due to the giant plumes of smoke that this cannon produced when fired. At the battle of Trafalgar Nelson used these plumes to shield himself and ships from enemy sight. Well, this is what the Tunnel Brewery tell me anyway, and I kinda like it.
A - Very cloudy (unsurprisingly) pale straw in colour. Pours with no head whatsoever. The appearance is unappealing, looks a bit like dirty water.
S - Clear fruitiness, lemons, oranges, and possibly lime. There is also a coppery metallic scent. Although the aromas seem quite weak, there is a noticeable sharpness about them.
T - Lemons, and apples, not dissimilar to a cider. There is a definite sharp citrus bitterness to the flavours There is also a taste of orange at the end.
M - Flat and quite thin in the body. Dry, very dry.
D - One of the most unappealing looking beers I have ever seen, doesn't look like a beer at all. The taste was too sharp and dry, made my salivary glands work a bit too hard. Not overly impressed, I have had better wheat beers than this, and probably won't be trying this again, even though the name is pretty awesome.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
