Argus Tostada

Olhão 16/7 2016. 33 cl can from Lidl. Red can with weird spots. If this beer is named after Odysseus’ dog Argus this could explain it (if the dog was a Dalmatian).

Pours clear yellow with a small white head. A bit bubbly. Head disappears fairly fast leaving what looks like a carbonated urin sample. No lacing.

Aroma is strange and chemical. Caramel sweetness and something a little sharp. Detergent perhaps.

Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate - not watery as many other discount beers. Lively texture.

Flavor is sweet with almost no bitterness. Like a big superficial caramel.

Quite strange to call this "Tostada" as I can’t detect anything roasted here. It’s a positive thing that this is a discount beer that tastes of anything at all. It’s not so positive that the taste in question is quite chemical.

 

Cerveza de cuerpo media y baja carbonatación, de color ámbar y con un dedo de espuma. Aroma a malta y un poco de caramelo. En boca es maltosa, ligeramente dulce.
