This is their fall seasonal, had a pint at the brewery. From the website:
"Nachwirkungen-fest (after the storm) celebrates the approaching end to hurricane season. Enjoy our version an Octoberfest Lager . . . "
Made with 100% Bavarina malt & noble hops. Not the best use of either I am afraid.
A: Deep orange with thin white head, low CO2 for style.
S: Malt with mellow lager tones, but buttered popcorn when it warms a bit.
M: Medium bodied with smooth character, low CO2
T: Sweet malt with some spicy hop flavor and appropriate toasted malt notes. But then diactyl rears its ugly head and kills the finish.
D: Low, would not order another, which is too bad. The grain and hop bill is promising but there are some major fermentation flaws here. Too ale like (warm ferment?) and then the diactyl finished . . . . not good.
