Pours real dark brown that shows some light of a ruby hue when held in the right light. Thin tan head. The nose really gets me on this one. Nice and malty sweet. Really nice. Flavor is extremely good. Very hearty with a malty sweet back side and an overall roasted tone. Feel is well bodied. This is good. This is very good. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.

The colour is jet black; the high airy head is beige, topped with a nice crater. The beer is bottle conditioned. Some lacing occurs.
The smell is fresh with roasted malt, some fresh clean bitter flavours, and hints of cookies, butter, oat and a touch of dark bread.
The taste is creamy and rather mild (not a bad thing): Roasted notes, hints of cream and bread, some sour flavours (candlegrease?). The aftertaste got a growing elegant clean bitterness, some pumpernickel and rolled oats, and a flowery touch. Some alcohol and butter in the finish.
The carbonation is mild, the small bubbles are fresh. The liquid is mid-smooth.
An ok porter, just a bit above the average. A little too much cream/butter for me.
