The colour is dark red, the liquid clear. The low head is pale brown.
The smooth smell got notes of honey, wood and caramel. It is quite light and well balanced.
The taste starts off with fresh cut grass and a mild bitterness. Yeasty wood-like flavours that I recon from other Skebo beers. The light and rather short aftertaste got notes of caramel and fruity hops.
The carbonation is medium strong, a bit stronger than your average cask ale. The small bubbles are light on the tongue. The liquid is medium smooth and a little dry.
A Scottish ale should be sweet and malty, this one is a bit light on both sweetness and bitterness. It lacks some bite. Still a good beer.
