Pulled from the cask into a standard pint glass. This version has been double dry hopped with Kent Goldings hops.
Appearance- Beer pulls a very dark clouded brown with no head at all but a slight constellation like swirl adorning the top of the brew. Lacing is minimal.
Smell- Strong noble Kent Goldings with rich chocolate, oatmeal, and brown malts. Dry hopping is very evident. Brown sugar and granola on the scent as well.
Taste- Creamy, milky soft water with that dry hopping going on once again. Earthy Kent Goldings hops, milk chocolate, lighter oatmeal than the regular tap offering and no granola flavor. Too bad, I really liked that uniqueness before.
Mouthfeel- Creamy, very smooth, lightly hopped, not carbonated, and medium-light bodied.
Drinkability- Smooth, but I prefer the standard tap more.

Pours a dark brown with a beautiful two finger head. Smells of roasted nuts and oats. Taste is smoky with overtones of roasted nuts, light coffee, and carmel. Mouthfeel is heavy on the carbonation. Too light for a stout. Easy to drink. A nice beer overall but too light for a stout. Seems like a porter to me. Kind of bummed because my expectations were high for this one. I guess they can't all be winners but Ale House No. 2 usually doesn't do me wrong.
