Reviewed 8-29-15. Shaker pint.
A: hazy yellow-copper with 1 finger white head that receded to a thick ring. No visible carb. Good lacing.
S: very Belgian! Sweet, spicy, fruity, bubblegum/clove. Floral.
T: similar to the nose; sweet, fruity/floral arrival. Not a bitter beer by any stretch, but I expected it to be cloying with no hops, and it wasn't.
M: lighter side of heavy, with little carbonation and quite slick.
O: this was really good and I'd have it again if they brew it again. I would not have known it was a gruit if they hadn't said so- I'd have guessed it to be a tripel, which is just fine by me.
