Pours a deep brown body with thick tan head that coats the glass.
Aromas are plenty of chocolate malts, vanilla and a bit of bourbon.
The flavor matches well with a sweetness of chocolate, vanilla from the oak and even a bit of sourness in there from the aging as well. Sweet but tasty.
Lighter than medium body with low carbonation.
Pretty impressive, not too much oak or bourbon flavor but just enough to add tons of character to the beer.

Limited cask of Woodford Reserve aged Bad Penny dubbed Kentucky Colonel by the brewery served on cask at Raleigh times served in a 20oz Imperial pint a nice almost opaque dark brown with a decent head that lasts as a thin layer. Aroma was a nice balance of dark malts and slight Bourbon. The taste was a near perfect balance of dark malts, mild cocoa and Bourbon hints. The beer was very light, crisp and smooth, even with the Bourbon presence. This one can simply be classified as a Bourbon aged session brew!
