"Porter-style bitter" is the label on the pump clip. I would say this ventures more towards the porter side of things. Dark ruby body with a tan coloured head. Roasted malts, black coffee and brown sugar in the nose.
Bitter coffee beans, dark chocolate taste. Tasty, but not very complex - one dimensional almost.
Low carbonation, and not particularly "full-bodied." A nice session beer, but this is a rather weak attempt at blending the body of a bitter with the taste of a porter.

I had a beer tasting in a pub called 'the Mug' in Middelburg. I was being introduced to the local PINT beer tasting club. The theme that night was UK Stout and Porter beers.
A - Amber brown with a light haze and a ring of foam against the glass.
S - Wood and wine tones, not strong at all.
T - a bit flat, not really much going on. More like bitter water.
M - no carbonation, not much going on, no sensation at all.
O - Not a beer I would be going for in the future.
