Copenhagen 13/10 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Drawing including a barrel and what looks like an Octopus arm in orange on the label.

Pours reddish dark brown with a light beige head. Stable. Settles as a thin creamy layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is bittersweet with bitter coffee and dark chocolate and sweet toffee and dark roasted malts.

Light carbonation and thick palate. Almost flat texture.

Flavor has a light sweetness and a more prominent coffee bitterness. Got a pretty light feeling.

Solid light stout.

500 ml bottle, from The Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. ABV is 4.5%. Black colour, large to moderate tan head. Aroma of roasted barley and cold coffee, hints of ashes. Dry flavour, roasty notes of coffee and dark chocolate, a hint of ashes again. Moderate bitterness.

Black in with a brownish white head that is about a cm tall and bubbly in texture before it quickly turns to a patchy, soapy lacing.

Very stout like in smell with some strong coffee and roasted malts on the nose to begin with. This is quickly followed on by some barely and dark chocolate. It is of about medium strength

A strong roasted malts and barely taste along with coffee to a slightly less extent. There is a lingering coffee aftertaste along with some dark chocolate and a touch of burnt toast.

Medium bodied with rather high carbonation levels and a fair bit of fizz to the drink.

I would rate this one as below average and a bit too gassy to really enjoy although it wasn’t that bad a beer, just not one to seek out.

At a bear tasting in 'the Mug' (brown café) in Middelburg, this was the fifth beer we tried.

A - Deep wine red appearance, a thin remaining ring of head sticking against the glas.

S - Chocolate and coffee.

T - Nothing much going on, pretty watery beer almost no taste.

M - There is some carbonation.

O - In my life it will never be a winner.
