L - I'm surprised how dark this is for a 4.5% 'ale'. It's dark chestnut/red. Pours with white 2mm fine-bubble head.
S - Quite puddingy [mollasses, crystallised fruits etc] without having an alcohol note in parallel.
T - It comes over as a rather muted otherwise full-flavour winter-warmer. I wonder if it were say 6.5% it might come together as a whole more closely.
F - Quite strong/pungent on flavour, but relatively light on body/ABV% But then again it might work well for say someone driving later who wanted a fuller flavour without the higher ABV%.
O - Very sessionable, and the overall flavour spectrum grows on me as I continue down the glass. Certainly seems something a little different, and I would buy it again.
Bought from: Amathus, Wardour St., Soho, London. £2/330ml. BB: 04/19
