The Color is in the range of an oktoberfest, lighter than a porter or a bock. I'd say it's about right for a dark Belgian. The smell is very caramelly, but also much the same as a tripel. The taste is very similar to a regular tripel, but the sugar presence is much more pronounced. the feel is more like a Barley wine in it's almost syrupy texture. The other very noticeable feel is the warm but not burn down the throat, much like the experience you would have with a strong mead. All of which in my opinion are good traits. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and the warm throat feel is a good head that you need to respect this drink, much in the same way a martini connoisseur knows better than to drink more than 2 martinis.
