Sampled at World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
Like straight rum... holy hell. I would never guess the style of this beer, just because it's quite reminiscent of a rum and coke. Thin body, lots of heat, and brings the bourbon. There might be some barrel characteristics in there, but the rum dominates all. Little bit of malt in there to keep things a little interesting, but this needs a little something extra. I think Tri-City should have gotten all the rum out of the barrel for putting the beer in... phew. Good, but certainly not balanced.

Short Review. This turned out to be batter than I expected, I've have had Fortunato many times and I wasn't that sure that it would take well to barrel aging, especially rum barrel and while the rum barrels did pretty much dominate this beer it still turned out to be pretty nice with just enough of the base beer peaking through and it had a nice finish and aftertaste that wasn't boozy. I liked and I would buy it if they bottled it.
