Had on-tap at World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth, Michigan. I noticed that this site has Giant Slayer, but this beer was listed at the Expo as Giant Vanilla Slayer. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be the Giant Slayer simply infused with vanilla, or if it's an entirely different beer.

Appearance: Pitch black with only a small amount of bubbles on top. Simple.

Smell: Marshmallow-y vanilla aromas with a semi-dark chocolate aroma as well... traces of coffee.

Taste: Almost as good as the smell is... what a treat this beer turned out to be. Has a nice body with a bold coffee flavor, with a perfect amount of vanilla. Excellent stuff.

Tri-City seems to have pretty average scores for most of their beers (I haven't had any of them except this one), but Giant Vanilla Slayer is excellent... it's pretty much the perfect RIS for my taste buds. Not big on the alcohol flavors, warming, but not too much so, and the beer's not so thick that it's syrupy. If I ever see this one again, I'll definitely be trying it. Far and away the best I've had from the style.*

*at the time of review... it's not anymore.
