Copenhagen 15/7 2022. 33 cl bottle from Den Belgiske Ølbutik, Jyllingevej, Vanløse. Light blue label with a very colorfield rectangle with the words Truth can set you free. Reminds me a bit of t-shirt slogan from a Christian sect.
Pours opaque, murky dark brown with a mid-sized off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer.
Aroma is medium intense with a dark earthy odor mingling elegantly with a distinct scent of dark alcohol. Sweet raisins soaked in alcohol, plums and toffee. Dark bitter chocolate and sharp boozy notes. Gets stronger as the beer warms up.
Low carbonation. Thick, oily, soft, a bit sticky, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong, sharp, boozy bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a searing boozy undertone. Lingering. Sweet, burning finish.
Truth might not set me free - but this wholesome Imperial Stout just might.

A 750ml bottle, 2015 vintage, limited edition cask strength, bottled on 10th May 2016. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with a half finger brown head that dissipated fairly quickly, while leaving only sparse to no lacing.
Aroma: Sweet dark malt, milk chocolate, dried dark fruit, raisin, prunes, fruit cake, with boozy notes.
Taste: Sweet dark malt, dark dried fruit, raisin, prunes, fruit cake, bourbon, with notes of milk chocolate.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with soft to moderate carbonation.
Overall: A nice sipping RIS with a good amount of dried dark fruit and bourbon flavours, although my preference is still with the original Cuvée Delphine.

Pours one shade shy of black with a half inch, mocha-colored head that disperses into a tight band around the shoulders. Nose reveals molasses, dark malts, ethanol and brown sugar. Taste consistent with nose with the addition of char and soy sauce. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with an oily texture and still carbonation. Overall, a but of an unbalanced mess. Not much different than the base beer in my opinion.
