375 mL deep brown. No head or bubbles. Smells of vinous acidity, oak, vanilla, a little dark fruit and caramel. Smells like it's gonna be sour, but there's only a little bit of tang in the taste. Oak, vanilla, lots of caramel and dark fruit, earthy and light tang in the finish. No carbonation, if any. Medium heavy. Good, but it's losing its Pannepot characteristics.

A 375ml bottle, 2012 vintage, cask strength limited edition, bottled on 25th February 2016. Poured into a De Struise tulip glass.

Appearance: Dark brown in colour with pretty much no head and no lacing.

Aroma: Sweet-ish dried fruit, dark fruit, plum, prunes, raisin, bourbon, brown sugar, red wine grape, slightly vinous, oak, with notes of chocolate and toffee.

Taste: Sweet dark fruit, very lightly tart, plum, prunes, raisin, light bourbon, oak, with chocolate and caramel notes and a very slight char like bitterness on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with extremely low to no carbonation.

Overall: For 4 years in a bourbon barrel, I was hoping for stronger barrel character. I also prefer having some carbonation, and I know the bottle says it has ‘low carbonation’ but actually my feeling is that it’s pretty much next to no carbonation.

Pours black with a finger and a half of khaki foam. Poured into a stemmed glass. Good head retention. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, and light bourbon. Flavor profile is plum, coffee, roasted and toasted malts with light bourbon and char. Mouth feel is velvety and fuzzy, with a medium-thick consistency. Overall, a good beer that mashes a solid quadruple with bourbon.

375ml bottle into a wine glass. The lable states "low carbonation" which I find to be comical because its flat and identical to the level of carbonation found in the recent bottles stated as "medium carbonation." Anyway, the brew is dark brown almost chestnut to mahogany with no head formation.

Thevaroma is classic pannepot with a darker, deeper concentration on earthiness, tangy alcohol and mild soy-like oxidation. As it breathes it has a lot of brown sugar about its nose.

The taste has dark fruity raison flavors, apple, bourbon tang, wet wood, chocolate and oak earthiness. Some caramel and molasses evolve as it warms along with a tobacco-like bitterness.

This is medium in body with very low to no carbonation. Despite spending 4 years in bourbon barrels, it really doesnt have too much barrel character - in fact its more subtle than anticipated.
