Damn near black with no head.
Some malt, some honey, not much alcohol.
Muted, I hate to say, except some dark fruit and a bit of bourbon. Much lost with time, I suppose. Have to say I prefer the port barrel or even the no barrel version.
Not a dry finish but doesn't linger either. Carbonation is mostly gone which gives it some unique viscosity.

A 330ml bottle, 2018 vintage, bottled on 22nd July 2020, with a best before date of 21st July 2025. Poured into a De Struise tulip glass.
Appearance: Dark brown in colour with a thin beige head that disappeared quickly while leaving only sparse lacing.
Aroma: Sweet malt, doughy, clove, fig, candied plum, prunes, candi sugar, toffee, bourbon.
Taste: Sweet, bourbon, dark fruit, fig, plum, raisin, prunes, candi sugar, with maybe slight notes of chocolate.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: An enjoyable sipper. I think the Bourbon BA helped it a bit and was not overly done.

330 mL bottle. Deep brown with a few bubbles. Smells of dark fruit, bourbon, dark breads, booze. Tastes of bourbon, dark fruit, earthy notes of leather, oak, brown bread, finishes with more bourbon. Low carbonation and fairly heavy. It's heavy-handed on the bourbon, which drowns out a lot of the base, but it makes for a nice treat.

Bottle from Etre
Pours a Dark brown with faint garnet at the edges, and thin wisp of tan that dissipates quickly. Candied sugar and light okay bourbon against a toffee and caramel back bone. Smooth light alcohol finish, delicate sipper.

Well you can tell this beer has spent its time in barrels.
The bourbon is there all right but you've got a certain wet wood character which reminds you that it might have been overly long.
The base beer is still there nonetheless with its caramelized nut and dates notes.
This not bad, don't make me say what I didn't say but it's not as good as the original beer.
