De 32gp. En copa Teku. Estudiando.

8cl Struise Black Damnation glass enjoyed during a share of the entire 6 bottle set.
A beast of a beer. I totally expected this to be a sweet mess, but it is actually quite well balanced (still sweet though). I enjoyed it more than the bourbon barrel M.A.N.O.L.O.

I received this 750ml bottle from my good Dutch friend Thijs back in 2016. Opted to get into it on a sunny, mild holiday recently (14OCT19). Bottle 828 of 900.

There was no pop or hiss upon opening the bottle. Poured into a snifter, it was dark and thick, like crude oil. Had no head at all, just a couple bubbles here and there near the rim, with no lacing at all. Aroma was very sherry-like, rich and sweet, with raisins, dates and prunes present. It was exceedingly smooth, but with no carbo or prickle at all. Body was medium-plus.

Taste was rich and then richer... Had some dark choco, lots of raisins, prunes, dates, currants, figs and molasses. Was sweet but never cloying; like a fine port. Had no alcohol burn at all, either; big "wow" for a 17% ABV bier. Damn tasty!! Thnx Thijs!! Prosit!
