330ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£6.50):
Thick black with a patch of bubbles in the middle but not much of a head given the abv. & age of this one. Strong on the nose, a lot of coffee & peaty whisky notes with dark, overripe & dry fruits - figs, dated & plums mainly. It’s a boozy mouthfeel with some red wine like flavours alongside the smokey whisky towards the middle but it's a little thinner than expected for the alcohol content & the balance isn't quite there either.

Black, opaque colour and medium-high, brown foam. This is how the appearance of this 'monster' can be described in a nutshell. I would add that the foam subsides quite slowly and eventually forms a vapid, frothy layer.
In the aroma there is caramel sweetness, coffee roastiness and bitterness, all this, further 'wrapped' in Bourbon flavours. With the passage of time, it seems that the aroma qualities go more in the direction of a strong roasted, coffee, bitterness. In the background you can smell dark, dried and maybe even fried fruits, marmalade and coffee again.
The taste is moderately sweet, with hints of alcohol (Bourbon) and a distinctly dry, long finish. The alcohol warms the oesophagus slightly. Low saturation. Full body. Texture on the one hand viscous, sticky (sweetness), leaves a sticky, sweet film on the mouth, on the other hand soft, slippery, velvety. Aftertaste long dry, coffee-like, with distinct Bourbon notes.

Poured from a bottle at fridge temp. Pours jet black with almost no head. The nose is black licorice, dark roasted malts, a touch of soy sauce, toffee, and dark fruits. Figs, plums, dates.
The taste is phenomenal. Super strong roasted malts, smooth bourbon, vanilla, molasses, black licorice, prunes, booze, raisins, marshmallow, and milk chocolate. Amazing taste.
The mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Aftertaste is mostly sweet bourbon and chocolate. Overall, this is a wonderful BA stout.

330 mL bottle. Pours dark brown with no head. Smells of cola, roasted malt, sweet brown malts, and whiskey. Tastes of whiskey and some deep smokey notes. Cola and roasted malt with a little bitterness. Lingering bourbon. Very approachable and it's tough to believe it's 13%.

De Labirratorium. En copa Grimbegen. Jugando a Fortnite.
