A smoked American stout that activates the senses! The ruddy brown hue beckons you to take in the cherry smoke and hop aromas that are the vanguard of the chocolate, coffee, and caramel malt flavors. A roasty finish coupled with a rich mouthfeel, this beer pleasantly lingers on the palette.

From 02/27/14 notes. Had on tap at Beer Authority in NY after their BR event. 14 oz. pour in a tulip.
a - Pours a dark brown, almost black color, with one to two inches of dark tan head and moderate carbonation evident. Looks great.
s - Smells super smokey as expected, smells of char, toasted malts, roasted malts, dark choclate, and burnt malts. Smoke dominates this one; I really did not get any bourbon from it at all.
t - Tastes again of a ton of smoke, char, ham, roasted malts, dark chocolate, burnt malts, ash, light oak, and veyr light bourbon. The tiniest bit of bourbon as it warms up but this is a smoke bomb.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. No heat to it.
o - Overall a good smoked beer, but a bit one dimensional to me. My fiance loves smoked beers and loved it, but I found it to be a bit too much, and found the bourbon almost non-existent. Worth checking out if you love smokey beers, but a bit too much for me so probably wouldn't order it again, though it is decent.
