July 28th, 2015 - Moving to one of the sweeter beers of the day is the Demolition Derby. It's a lighter auburn color with little head, and a hugely sweet smell of graham cracker, and honey. And then there's some skittles and strawberry frosting, making it just a touch too sweet. The body salvages this with a heavy weightiness, and more of the strawberry frosting flavor. It gets large and a little scary after a few sips, imitating something more like a dessert beer.

On tap at Thin Man Brewery in Buffalo, NY.
This one pours a light rusted looking amber, with a small white head, and basically no lacing.
Smells like dark fruit, oak, light caramel, and toasted bread. It says it's aged in Hungarian oak chardonnay barrels- I definitely get an oak aroma- but no chardonnay.
This is pretty solid- not amazing, but solid. The oakiness is great, and gives off a hint of vanilla, along with piney hops, toasted bready malt, lots of dark fruit, and a hint of booze.
This is light bodied for the style, but very drinkable, with a normal level of carbonation.
A definitely interesting take on the style. I very much enjoyed it.
