Arrived a tawny brown and a hint of haze in a De Koninck chalice with just a wisp of foam barely covering the body. The nose could be detected from three feet away with the bright scent of applespice and pure earthy malt as though it had just arrived from the mash tun.
A spritz of carbonation greets the tongue along with an absolutely amazing sweetness deposited on the lips. Thye mid-taste is literally a party on the tongue, rich with complex layers of sugary fruits like apple, raison, and orangepeel. The finish has a fantastic crisp hop bite accented by the slowly fading sweetness of the malt.
Best of all, the finish is followed by more lip licking goodness.
