This one is back on Nitro at the Bear and weighing in at 4.7 abv.

A - Dark brown to almost black in color with a moderate head and little to no lacing.

S - Light roasted malts and coffee with a hint of pine or grass.

T - Light roasted malts and coffee with a hint of pine or grass. Also a slight bit of plum.

M - Very smooth, but not too sweet. Very little note of bitterness from the hops. Excellent.

D - An excellent example of a robust porter. Note: Should be a little heavier in abv.

Deep, dark, topped by a lasting head, and the glass had solid rings of lacing. A good start. No too much aroma but a definite roasted smell was evident. Very roasted notes on first taste, Some chocolate notes a swell, hops came more forward as beer warmed. Served way too cold, even top breweries like Bear Republic still have not caught on that stout and or porter is better a little warmer than the lighter colored brews. Creamy mouthfeel and very drinkable. Not the most complex porter but very enjoyable.

Tap@Bear Republic Brewpub. Nicely roasted and chocolatey, soft and easy to drink, nothing special however. Not as full bodied as i was hoping for, but it would be pretty easy to have a couple of pints of these in a row, simple, innofensive and fairly tasty. Nice porter.
