We added chocolate to this release of Baba Yaga Imperial Stout, layering in cacao, caramel malts, roasted barley, black molasses, and a touch of licorice root for a lingering sweetness.

Can pour - dark as night with thick chocolate milk head leaving scattered lacing and a ring of bubbles. Nose is quite mild with a bit of roasty malt and some sweetness. Taste follows with hints of cocoa and licorice. Finishes with a bit of woody dryness. Thinner than expected.

This is really delicious. Really dark and not overly sweet. Pours a nearly opaque brown-black with plenty of foam in the IPA glass. Aroma of roasted grain and alcohol. Flavors of licorice stand out, along with dark caramel. Burnt sugar and toffee with bitter chocolate with a little sweetness left. Moderate butter aftertaste as the alcohol tingles the tongue.
This is quite a powerful brew with an intense flavor. Quite sippable if treated with respect. From the 16 oz can purchased at Best Damn. Interestingly the bottom date is BB-- "best by?" 10/11/22.

Aroma is dark fruit/vinous, dark malts and a good hint of alcohol. The flavor is dark fruit/vinous, dark malts, dark chocolate, oily texture and a medium sweet/acidic warming alcoholic finish.

Pours a dark brown with a finger of beige head. The nose has cocoa and some coffee roast. The flavor is roasty and bitter but nothing stands out. The finish has a nice roast too but underneath there is a slight alcohol burn.
For a big 12% abv impy stout, nothing really stands out here. Frankly, I prefer this brewery's basic Big Bear Black Stout over this pedestrian offering any day.
