Had on-tap at Sunswick 35/35 in Astoria, Ny on 5/22/11.

A - This beer pours a reddish brown color. It has a nice creamy off-white head on it. The head has good retention, and leaves a nice layer of lace behind on the glass.
S - It smells of sweet toasted malt up front. There are some nice fruit notes such as apple, cherry, and plum. There is also a nice hop presence.
T - It starts off with sweet toasted malt. A nice piney hop presence immediately follows. I am getting some notes of nuts and some dark fruit. The finish leaves a bit of lingering bitterness on the palate.
M - This has a medium body and good carbonation. It goes down smooth and has a rich and creamy feel to it. It is refreshing, and leaves some lingering bitterness in the mouth.
O - This has great drinkability. It goes down easy and the taste is great. I really enjoyed this one. It is my first Altbier, but I can't wait to try another. I definitely recommend giving this beer a shot if you come across it.

Rich and malty. Mid-brown colour with three-eighths of an inch of head very lacey. Malty, nutty, some thickness to it. Good mouthfeel.Good drinkability. Bitterness appropriately there, however in a secondary role. Good alt.
