Deep golden with small head, what a strange beer. Detroit beer company has a better version and its a light beer. Rubbery weird bitter, but otherwise flavorless hops and nothing else. Underwhelming, just like the city of Detroit.

Three month old bottle, poured into a shaker glass.
Looks really nice, kind of an amber/dark honey color. It is very clear for an ale.
It has a sweet malty smell, with a light floral hop scent. The flavor follows the nose, initially sweet then fading into a spicy floral hop.
This one seems to be based on a traditional British Pale Ale, which I like a lot. Very well done!

Pours a beautiful clear copper with a one-finger head that quickly departs. Aroma is faintly yeasty malt, very little hops coming through. Taste is metallic and faintly soapy with yeast and malt dominating. Pale ale? Altbier? either way, it doesn't appeal to me and doesn't seem to be particularly well made. Along the lines of Bass but not as caramelly. Tastes a bit like some of my early homebrew attempts. I won't drain pour it but I also won't seek it out.

Gusher. Quality control issue. Should be labeled altbier. Taste like pennies and soap. No long review. Ten years ago this would have been a welcomed change up from a typical AAL I guess.
